You be the judge

*Note: This is the last time I will be addressing this "situation" so please comment if you like, but don't ask me to post about it anymore. Fighting isn't what my blog is about. Thanks Tiff

Since I first posted the e-mail this morning from Sticker Doodles I have had several nasty comments. I will not be posting those comments, because that isn't what my blog about. However, one comment did make me think. An unknown commenter said that it was unfair of me to post what Sticker Doodles had said and not what I had replied with. So in all fairness here is the conversation. You can be the judge.

Hello, I am a local blogger (Campbell County) and I do blog giveaways. Usually I do one per month, but recently a blogger friend suggested that I do more than one a month. I have been searching for local people who are trying to make a few extra bucks using their creativity. Feel free to check out my blog at http://www.tsharee.blogspot.com/ for more info and to see past giveaways. This is how it works. If you agree to donate a product for a giveaway then I will blog about you and your items. People can post comments on that specific post and they will be entered to win. Now if someone orders an item from you during the giveaway time, all they have to do is leave a comment and I will enter them once for each item plus once for the comment. I will ask you to pick the particular type of item that they will win. That way the winner can’t pick something outrageous expensive and put you in the hole. This will get your name out to the locals and hopefully generate you some business. Let me know if you are interested. My e-mail is tiffany.crutchfield [!at] firstvolunteerbank.com

Hi,Your nowhere NEAR me as a local blogger. I'm in Palm Springs California, land of the rich and famous and not out in the middle of nowhere small town America. You only have a handful of followers and wouldn't be worth a moment of my time to do a giveaway on your blog.Your sending out total spam convo's here, and it's being reported to etsy immediately.

Wow thats a little un-called for. I mis read your location and thats all. Rich and famous well thats a little rough. My followers are important to me and won't be buying from you anytime in the near future. I am not sending out spam at all. I was merely trying to increase your business and help get your name out there. I will be reporting you and your nasty comment as well. Don't think your deed will go unpunished!

Your in total violation of etsy rules by sending that convo in the first place. Your begging for product, not requesting a purchase, and etsy has no use for you unless your paying a fee, and getting something from me for free to give out doesn't make etsy any money. Etsy does not tolerate that, and you can report me all you want, I did not break a single rule, I did not use profanity and I'm not interested at all in giving you something for nothing. You not only have wasted my time, you are wasting etsy's bandwidth. So please, feel free to report me, because I can guarantee that if you've sent that convo to more than 10 people you've already got it coming to you. And now that you have threatened with "Don't think your deed will go unpunished!" your in for a big surprise :) Have a super day,Ashley

Ashley,I have not done anything wrong either. You could have nicely declined such as other shops have. Just because you live in California doesn't mean you are rich and famous. Nor does it give you the right to look down on me and where I am from. This is childish. Do you think you are the ETSY police? Do not contact me in the future. I was only trying to help people find you and your shop. Not everyone knows about ETSY. I am not begging. I was asking. Know the difference! If you don't want to be a part of this, then don't. Its not a big deal!

One ETSY shop that I am working with on a fundraiser said that she approached Sticker Doodles as well about a giveaway. No reponse. Yes, I use a template. I don't want to have to re-type an entire conversation every time I find something I like. You can ask any of the other ETSY shops that are participating. They all received the exact same e-mail and had zero issues with it. I didn't threaten her, I was merely letting her know that she would be reported as well for her nasty comment.

she must get hounded all the time because she is rich and famouse - I do not think she handled that with any southern charm like we have here in Hot Springs!

I wouldn't worry about it! You were trying to do something good and she blew it all out of proportion.

Go girl!
