Living in East Tennessee is awesome. There are so many fun things to do and cool places to visit. I use a website to find upcoming events in knoxville and surrounding counties and I found this. It's a list of the top 7 attractions in East Tennessee. I have been to all but one. If you are looking for things to do in east Tennessee check out www.knoxville.org
Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #1: Dollywood
Dollywood by far has got to be the biggest attraction in East Tennessee. Each year thousands of people flock to Dollywood. These people actually come from all over the country to enjoy this theme park. For those of you who aren't familiar with Dollywood, it's a theme park owned by country music legend Dolly Parton. The park has several rides, shows, gift shops, and even a museum. This attraction is very affordable costing around $50 for adults and $36 for children.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #2: Cumberland Gap
Cumberland Gap is one of the most beautiful places in East Tennessee. I grew up only 20 miles from the Cumberland Gap area and have spent many days hiking through the area. One of the top attractions in Cumberland Gap would have to be the tri-state marker. After a short climb, you will actually be able to stand in three states at once (Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia). Also the views are amazing.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #3: Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg has something to offer everyone. Whether you love skiing, shopping, theme parks, or games you'll find something to do at Ober Gatlinburg. Many people are confused and think this East Tennessee attraction is only open in the winter, but you can actually enjoy Ober Gatlinburg all year long.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #4: American Museum of Science and Energy

If you know your history, you will know that part of East Tennessee was very important in the war against Japan. In Oak Ridge Tennessee the atomic bomb was built. While you won't be able to visit the area where the bomb was built, you can still enjoy a wonderful museum in Oak Ridge. The American Museum of Science and Energy has two floors of wonderful exhibits that children and parents can both enjoy. Best of all, adults will only pay $5 and admission for children is only $3.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #5: Ruby Falls

There's a good chance you may have seen a sign at one point that said, "Visit Ruby Falls" or "Come See Ruby Falls." Ruby Falls is beautiful cave located in Chattanooga. This underground cavern was so beautiful that the person who discovered it actually named it after his girlfriend. All of the attractions at Ruby Falls cost under $30 to visit.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #6: Tennessee Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium is also located in Chattanooga. This aquarium is huge. At the Tennessee Aquarium you will see everything from sharks to otters. This is the perfect East Tennessee attraction for children who love animals. The aquarium also has an IMAX theater. The tickets are also very reasonable costing below $30.

Top 7 Attractions in East Tennessee #7: Neyland Stadium

Neyland Stadium is home to the Tennessee Vols. If you're a football fan, you must visit this stadium. Neyland Stadium is actually the 3rd biggest college stadium in the country and in 2001 it was voted the most popular college stadium in the country.
