Tale as old as time

Like the rest of the human population I have spent the last three nights captivated by these two families. 

After the first night I couldn't wait for the next two.

 I mean HELLO Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton on the same screen!!!!! 

Whomever chose this cast did an amazing job. All of these actors were great choices. 

I'm sad that its over, but thanks to my handy dandy DVR I can re-watch them anytime!

Missy is AMAZING! She basically saves old unwanted pieces from the trash. She restores them and they ALL get a brand new home. When I say all I mean all. Missy posts pictures on FB daily and usually within minutes someone scoops it up! I am one of those people! The first piece I bought was that black distressed rocker. It was $45 and I absolutely love it! The next piece was the black distressed dresser. It was $75 and the home for my craft supplies. 

A couple of weeks ago I grabbed this chair for....wait for it.....$10!!! 

I love it! It's going to double as a prop for some upcoming senior pictures I am doing and it will also be in my living room.

Then today I bought these..................

Two great end tables for the living room. $29 each!!!!

A black distressed table for my hall. $22!!!!

AND this really great desk! $35!!!!!!

Exhausted!

It's official........I am not into packing! 

It's not been made blog official but i've got some health issues going on. 

Nothing to fear! Just tiring me out these days. 

It's making packing not so fun! My energy level is low and I really just want to lay on the couch and sleep. 

Which is exactly what I have been doing. Last night (Friday) I went home from work, changed clothes, made a not so quick trip to Wal-Mart and then back home to put everything away. I put a frozen pizza in the oven and sat down. Twenty minutes later I got up took it out of the oven and ate. Twenty minutes after that I was snoozing away! Literally I slept all night! That's how my Friday nights (all my nights now) have been going. I am just exhausted! 

BUT it's Memorial Day weekend and I plan on enjoying it!

Moving Day

My home loan was approved by the underwriters on Wednesday and sent to USDA yesterday. It's still a waiting game, but my mortgage officer tells me that all is on track and going great. She thinks that I can close next week. Then its still a waiting game for the sellers to move. 30 days at least. In the meantime I am pulling rooms together. 

I am most excited about my office! Thank you Pinterest for this picture which I have now feel in love with and cannot live without! Imagine this desk (kitchen table) in white. The walls are either going to be yellow or Tiffany & Co blue. I'm not sure yet. I know all the furniture will be white so if I change the paint color down the road the furniture doesn't have to be re-painted. 

My cousin recently built her dream house. She has two kids and in their playroom she painted one wall with chalkboard paint. This picture has the same thing. I like it, but I think its something I would get tired of really fast. 

So ready to get started!!!!

Someone has been taking his clothes off for the last couple of days now. I got there last night to find him in his denim diaper and pool shoes. I kid you not! Oh how I love this child! 

Hurry December!

I'm not wishing the year away by any means! Especially since Summer is finally here! BUT some amazing people got together and decided to re-make The Great Gatsby, AND its premiering in December. Again this is just another example of how simple my life is and what I get excited about! Ha!

I've read this book 3 times and watched the 1974 movie version no less than 100 times. This story is one of the greats and I am so glad it was a required reading my freshman year of high school and again my freshman year of college. 

One of my good friends from college emailed me this morning and this is what it said:

Say it isn't so! GCB AND Pan Am have been cancelled. I realize this seems like a minor thing to most. I know I know they are just tv shows. BUT in a world where reality shows have taken over, I was loving these dramas. Pan Am had the vintage thing going on which I love. Pretty sure I should have been born in the 50's so I could have enjoyed the 60's. GCB reminded me WAY too much of some people I am close to. Still I really liked it! I've loved Annie Potts since Designing Women! 

On the up side Grey's Anatomy and Scandal were renewed. 

LOVE Scandal.

Oh and Big Bang too!!!!!!!!!

Today I am thankful to be alive.

Wordless Wednesday

Uh-Oh

Tate is starting to talk! I can't believe he is already almost a year old! Where did the year go?!?!?!? He is amazing! One of his favorite words is uh-oh. Friday night Cassie and I decided it was time to put some of those pinterest pins to use. The idea was simple...... one blank canvas, paint, ribbon and Tate's handprints. At first he was all about the paint on his hands. Then he decided to taste it and we sorta flipped out. He got scared and it was all over but the shouting....literally. 

So we moved right along to bath time. Which he loves!

 He is a total water baby. I can't wait to see him swim in a few weeks. 

In the end Mom loved her gift because it was all about Tate. 

Update

 I'm too ashamed to upload a real picture of the moving mess so this image will have to work! Ha! 

The appraisal has been done and now I am just waiting on the report. Hopefully there were no issues and everything is still on track. I cancelled the home inspection that was scheduled for next week. I did this on the advice of both my realtor and mortgage officer. They both told me that since the appraisal was done first it isn't necessary that an inspection be done. They explained that the appraiser does an inspection and the seller pays for it. So I would be paying $250 for a second inspection. That's money I can use for other things. So again hopefully there are no issues. As far as I know closing date is still set for the 25th of this month. Then the sellers still have 30 days to move.  We have the same realtor and she told me they have found a house just waiting on that seller to accept the offer. SO I am praying they move early! I hate to rush them since they have two tiny girls, but I am ready to move! 

I feel like the apartment is shrinking. The walls are closing in on me. My plan is (insert laugh here) to have EVERYTHING packed up and move in a single day..............(insert hysterical laughing here)!!!!!!!!!

Basically I am going to be calling in every favor everyone owes me!  

IF they move early then I want to stay in the apartment the whole month of June. GASP! I want to paint before moving in. That way on moving day things can be put where they are going to stay! I realize its a big goal, but hey we all need goals right?

Today and everyday I am thankful for my family.
Saying that I would be nothing and nowhere without my amazing family is an understatement. I cannot imagine where I would be or who I would be without them. I thank God daily for them!
