Let the saving begin! $250

1. Puzzles must not be too popular these days. Wal-Mart had a total of 3 for me to choose from.

2. It's actually 550 pieces. So that's an extra $250!

3. Thanks to modern age technology and online banking I transferred $250 into my savings account tonight. Which means 50 puzzles pieces will have today's date written on them!!!!!!

Because I am tired I'm just going to pick 50 pieces and write today's date on them. I'll assemble them tomorrow.

$250 and counting!!!!!

Puzzle Project

A couple of weeks ago Kelly @ Kelly's Korner did a Show us your life about adoption and adoption fundraisers. Adoption is great, but the cost can be unbelievable. I love adoption stories!!!!! So of course I read most of the blogs that linked up that day. One that really caught my attention was a sweet couple and their puzzle fundraiser. This couple bought a 2000 piece puzzle and for each $5 someone donated they would write their name on the back of a piece/pieces. Now this puzzle is framed and hanging in their sweet baby Kate's nursery. The puzzle is framed with the back of the puzzle showing so Kate can see someday just how many people loved her. I love this idea so I am using it in my own life.

I think in order for it to really work, and for me to stick with it I need to decide on what exactly I am saving toward. Right now I am house hunting........which is exhausting! With the loan I have I don't need a down payment.......BUT I still want to have one. What better goal than a down payment right?

Okay so starting today I am going to start working on this puzzle. I'm going to follow the same system as the couple.......except i'm starting with a 500 piece. $5 X 500= $2500. In the past puzzles were my Mother's key to keeping her sanity during snow days. Ha! My sister has always been able to sit for hours and work puzzles. Me on the other hand......I just don't have the patience. At least not the amount needed to sit and work 500, 1000 or 2000 piece puzzles in one sitting. I just don't and I probably never will. That being said I think this will work out better. Each paycheck I am planning to save as much as possible for the puzzle project. It's going to take a while to finish but that way I won't lose interest in it.

I'll post pictures along the way!

(Unfortunately this isn't the actual puzzle.
Too bad y'all know how much I love doughnuts!)

TV Time!

**WARNING**
This post is mainly for me to be able to go back and see what I was interested in at this time.
Probably entirely boring to anyone else! Ha!

The Walking Dead is currently my favorite TV show. I absolutely love it! It comes back on Feb 12th and I cannot wait.
Once Upon A Time is also quickly becoming a fav! I love this new take on old storybook tales.

Hell on Wheels!!!!!!!! It's probably because of my Dad that I love westerns so much.
This show has amazing actors and a really interesting story line.

Who doesn't love some teen mama drama. Ha!
Okay I have to admit these girls do get on my nerves with some of their antics, BUT I just can't stop watching. It's like a train wreck!

Mike and Molly make my Monday nights so much better!
I love these two! Can't wait for their wedding!

Oh Sheldon! I love the Big Bang boys......and Penny too. These guys are too funny!
Sheldon is my fav!

Okay I know this show was filmed in the 80's, BUT I absolutely love it!
I figure since I am a product of the 80's its okay that i'm still watching it in 2012.
If you know me at all then you know Julia is my favorite because of her politics!
Ha!

I think I can........I think I can......

Dear Pinterest,

You are draining my checking account.

-Tiff

Haha! Seriously though Pinterest is really making me feel more crafty than I actually am. Right now I am really into making wreaths.

I have already made one like this for Valentines Day.
It turned out ok, but its missing something. Not sure what yet.

This is my next project.
The tutorial says you need lots of ribbon and lots of different patterns.
It also says it takes lots and lots of time.
Hopefully I will have one done by spring!

I really really like this one.
So far I haven't been brave enough to try it.

2012

It's a new year and that means new changes. I'm not one of those people who is going to make 30 resolutions and keep none of them. I'm going to make one.........Plan.
If you've read any of my blog in the past you've seen how much of a planner I am. It can be a double edged sword at times, but this year I want to plan for the future. Hopefully if all goes well I will start 2013 debt free and with a safety net.

Oh and notice that whole read 100 books in a year thing didn't work out...........I'm still trying.

Happy New Year!
