Weddings, Babies, Relationships.........Oh my!

Pretty sure the devil is out in full force today. Isn't it amazing how the smallest things in life can upset us the most. Today has just been one of those days. Well I should really say yesterday since it is now almost 1 a.m.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be married. My dream job is to be a wife and mama. Call me crazy to want those things at 23, but I do. Kristy keeps apologizing for talking about wedding stuff all the time, and I keep telling her that its fine. It really is. I am truly happy for Kristy and Cody. I hate that she feels like we can't talk about her wedding. One of my best friends is getting married and she is afraid to talk about it around me. How terrible is that. On the flip side, how great of a friend is she!!!! I love how much she cares about me. God has blessed me with amazing friends and family.

On top of Kristy's wedding, I also received an invite to another wedding in a couple of weeks. Then another friend dropped off her baby shower invite and when I got home I found a second baby shower invite in the mailbox. Add these to the other two baby showers I have been invited to in the last week and I am about to have a meltdown.

I am not jealous of these gals and their happiness. They are so blessed to be so happy. I want to be happy too. Just because my life isn't exactly great these days doesn't mean I want everyone around me to be unhappy. I guess maybe I was just caught off guard by all these weddings and babies.

Not to worry though, because I will survive. The devil may be throwing all these things at me at once, but I still have God. I can still rely on him to handle any issue that I cannot.

For some reason I have been so worried about me and Tim. My knuckles were white from holding on so tightly to a relationship that I had zero control of. Letting go and letting God handle the situation has freed my mind more than you can believe. No I am still not over it, but I get a little stronger each day. Just knowing that God is in control helps 100%. I have said it before and I will say it again................Its not the situation, but how you handle the situation. For me the best way to deal is to look up. So many things went wrong today, but each time I just took a breath and said a prayer.

Yes the devil can throw us for a loop, but God is always there to protect us. Isn't that a comforting thought? Well it is for me.

I should not complain. My life really isn't bad at all. I have a great family, awesome friends, a good job, my health and one day I will have complete happiness. Until then I am just going to enjoy the ride on this awesome plan that God made for me long before he ever created me.

I am headed to bed now. 1/2 day at work tomorrow (well really today) and then we are off to Knoxville for some bridesmaid dress shopping!!!! Maybe I can talk the gals into eating at Cajun Cafe!!!! Yummy!

P.S. Just in case I haven't said it in a while, thanks for reading my blog. I really love to blog and read your blogs. Thanks for your comments too. You will never know how great and helpful your comments have been during this time.

Out with the old and in with the new

Countdown that is. I have lost count on how many days Tim and I have been broken up. Maybe that is a good sign. Maybe that means I am getting over him. Actually the truth is I have a new countdown that is much more important. B and I are in the process of planning a weekend trip. Yes I know I just had a vacation, but I am always up for another one.
The destination will depend on my work schedule. It was suppose to be my Saturday off, but Monica needs someone to work for her. Since she was soooo nice and worked for me last Saturday, I think it is only fitting to return the favor. Being that he lives 5-6 hours away we have decided to meet somewhere in the middle. We are thinking Chattanooga, because its only 2 1/2 hours for us both.
The original plan was to go to Birmingham. B's best friend lives there. I think he does the exact same job as B just in a different part of Alabama. This friend has the cutest baby boy!!! I have only seen pictures on Myspace, and was really looking forward to meeting the little guy. Oh and he is going to be a big brother soon!
Since Birmingham is 2 hours past where B lives and it already takes me 6 hours to get there I really don't think an 8 hour trip would be a good idea on Saturday. Especially since I won't even get out of town until at least 1 p.m. Then I would have to drive back on Sunday. Exhaustion really isn't the best way to start a new week. Oh well best laid plans.
I have been to Chattanooga a million times, but I am not a local. Locals always know the great secrets of where to eat and what to do. Do I have any followers who are also Chatt locals? Or maybe you recently visited and know of something that we absolutely have to do while we are there. Let me know!!! I am going to try my best to talk B into the aquarium. I know I know if you been once, you have been enough. No one really shares my love for aquariums. Not sure why? B really shouldn't have a problem with it, since he is a biologist. Isn't that kinda up his alley?
Alexis asked me to post a picture of B. He may not be ready to make his blog debut just yet. I want to make sure he is 100% okay with it before I introduce him to ya'll.

Vacation wrap-up

Yes, I had a great vacation. It wasn't what I had originally planned, but I still enjoyed my time away from work. It was so nice to not have people asking for their balance, or telling me their life story. Ha Ha. Don't get me wrong. I like my job, it just gets to me sometimes. I am sure you all are the same way.
Taking a break from my blog was nice too. Trying to remember all that I wanted to share with you not so much. I really should have taken notes. LOL
Monday was pretty mellow. Kristy and I had lunch and then she tried on some wedding gowns at a local bridal boutique. For someone who just had a baby not 2 months ago she looked awesome!!!!!! She keeps saying that she wants to lose 20 more pounds by the wedding. I keep telling her that the stress from planning this wedding will help with that.
Tuesday I headed for Alabama. I should have left earlier considering it took me 6 hours to make a 4 hour trip. Ummmmm I swear I didn't get lost. Barry says he can make it in 4 hours. Pretty sure he has some secret shortcut that he forgot to share with me. I made it to bama just in time for dinner. Too bad I was too tired to eat. Let me just say that Alabama didn't impress me. Sorry for all of you who actually do live there. Maybe I missed something, I mean my visit was short, but I saw zero that I would stay for. Lots of corn though.
Wednesday morning I got up bright and early to head home. B had to work, and I had to get back to the big CC for a cookout. There was no way I was going to miss out on one of Paige's famous burgers. Ohhh and they were so yummy!!!!! Poor Pres she had to drink a nasty bottle. Soon though very soon she will be eating big girl food.
Thursday I stayed home all day. Yes it was by choice. I had lots of things to accomplish. I did a few. Ha Ha Hey I was on vacation!!!!!!
Friday all of us gals headed to Hooters for dinner. It was yummy!!!! After that Kel and I made a quick trip to the dock. Most everyone was gone by the time we got out there, well most everyone. Wouldn't you know that Tim would be the first person I would see. He left as soon as he saw me. Hurt? Nope I was glad.
Saturday we headed to David's bridal and then I came home. A nap was all I could think about. So that's exactly what I did. Unfortunately when it came time for bed Saturday night I was less than sleepy. No biggie though. Me and B talked until 4:30 a.m. Yes, I know you are shocked. Me too. I am so not a night owl. Usually about 11 or 12 I am crashing. Thanks to my late afternoon nap, that wasn't the case. Pretty sure I could talk to B for hours. Well I did. He is sooooo funny!!! It's not what he says, but how he says it that makes him funny.
Sunday turned into nap day. I am guessing my 4:30 a.m. bedtime had something to do with it. When I finally got up I spent the rest of the day getting my things together so I could come back to work. We were suppose to go walk last night, but as soon as I pulled into the parking lot the sky opened up. Cloud to ground lightening, hail, fierce wind and solid sheets of rain really aren't the best conditions for walking. So I headed home just in time for Army Wives. Anyone else addicted?
So I am back to work. Can't say that I have missed it. I am thankful and blessed to have such a great job though. Can't wait until my next vacation!!!!!!!!!!

Wedding gowns, Bridesmaids dresses, 3 1/2 months....oh my!

Wedding preparations are in full swing around here. Kristy and Cody have set the date for October 17th, 2009. On Saturday we headed over to David's Bridal so she could try on some dresses. Can you believe that the second one she tried on was the one she loved. When I think about picking out my wedding dress (which I will apparently never get to do) I think about trying on hundreds and hundreds before finding the perfect one. Kristy was just extremely lucky I guess.
Among other things, bridesmaids dresses are a hot topic for us gals. We haven't all had a chance to go look together yet. I am anxious to see what we all choose. Here are some that Kristy likes. Remember to think chocolate brown and lime green (well unless she changes her mind).

This first one is her fav. She doesn't like the jacket, but other than that she loves it.
I like this one. Its different. I am into different.

This one isn't bad either.

Ohhhh this one is my fav. I wish it was a bit shorter though.

I really like this one, except for the lace. I am NOT a lace girl.
There really are too many styles out there to choose. We know that we don't want long, but a side from that??????????????????????????
Clarity should come when we are able to throw a few on.

Sooooooooooo which one would you choose?

Swivel Space

As promised I will continue to do the blog giveaways that I have already had shops commit to. This shop, Swivel Space, has agreed to give away any single-sided wooden pendant of your choice, along with a chain. Now you MUST go to the shop and pick out the pendant you like and mention it in the comment.
I love all her things. But then again I love anything that has my name or initial on it. Check out her shop!!!

Winner will be drawn on July 30th!
