Melanie, Mitch and Bodega Bay

*****NO IDEA WHY THESE DIDN'T POST OVER THE WEEKEND*****
It's Friday!

We worked today (which is odd in most dental offices, and for us) and I am thrilled to be home. It wasn't a crazy crazy day, but we had one patient.....the cutest 2 year old on the planet....come in for his first ever visit. Why are the cutest little boys the meanest? He wasn't mean like Tasmanian devil. He was mean like.... be sitting in your lap and pinch you, but smile with that I am totally innocent smile. His little face just melts my heart. He has an older brother that is something else! These boys are going to be heartbreakers one day!

Home in my pj's ready for movie night and a trip to Bodega Bay.

Tonight's feature is one of my all time favorites.....The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock.

A classic! If you haven't seen it you should!

Basically....

Spoilt socialite and notorious practical joker Melanie Daniels is shopping in a San Francisco pet store when she meets Mitch Brenner. Mitch is looking to buy a pair of love birds for his young sister's birthday; he recognises Melanie but pretends to mistake her for an assistant. She decides to get her own back by buying the birds and driving up to the quiet coastal town of Bodega Bay, where Mitch spends his weekends with his sister and mother. Shortly after she arrives, Melanie is attacked by a gull, but this is just the start of a series of attacks by an increasing number of birds.

Tippi Hedren is an amazing actress.

(She is also Melanie Griffith's Mom)

Melanie and Annie Hayworth

Ahhhhh Rod Taylor!

He was quite a handsome man in his day!

No one could have played Mitch Brenner like he did, and no one can make Bodega Bay sound as inviting as he did!

Favorite part of the whole movie:

Mitch: Well, small world...How do you know Annie?

Melanie: We went to school together - college...

Mitch: So you came up to see Annie, huh?

Melanie: Yes.

Mitch: I think you came up to see me.

Melanie: Now why would I want to see you of all people?

Mitch: I don't know. You must have gone to a lot of trouble to find out who I was and where I lived.

Melanie: No, it was no trouble at all. I simply called my father's newspaper. Besides, I was coming up anyway. I've already told you that.

Mitch: You really like me, huh?

Melanie: I loathe you. You have no manners, you're arrogant, and conceited, and I wrote you a letter about it, in fact. I tore it up.

Yes, I am a dork!

I have this barbie....in the original box.

What can I say? I really love this movie! So much so that I am considering being her for Halloween this year. Yes, a dork....I already know.

Happy Friday!
