Dear Monday.........why can't we be friends?

Two posts in one night?
See I can do it!
Honestly I am exhausted and would rather be in bed, but this day was just so much fun I want to document it. When I say fun I really mean miserable! Today has been the worst day. I had to take a 15 minute break this morning to cry. Yes, I cried at work. No, it didn't help. It only made me more mad that I crumbled. Miraculously minutes after my breakdown I checked my phone and had a text from my favorite person, who told me that everything would be ok. Of course he was usual. Thanks to the girls at work, and a private lunch in my car with my audio book I was feeling better by the afternoon.
The entire day wasn't a waste. I got home to find my parents at my apartment......with tape measures in hand........apparently I am getting a new bed. Dad said "I bet you wish you had never given us keys huh?" All I could do was laugh. I wish they wouldn't spend so much money on me, but they like to help so why stop them. When I first moved out they were really sad, and I felt guilty. Then I realized the best thing to do was include them. So I made them both a key and let them basically move me in. It made Dad feel better that he could plug in all my electronics correctly, and Mom of course wanted to organize and decorate. There was a time in my not so distant past that I would have fought them on these things, but not now. One might say I don't need to be in control as much. Maybe that's a sign of maturity?
So it's 9:03 p.m. and I am going to bed.
P.S. I love my new background!
Thanks Shabby Blogs!

Summer Fever

This weather is making me think SUMMER!!!!!!! Summer means pool days, laying out in the sun, swimsuits, flip flops and SUNDRESSES!!!!!!!!
It's official, I have summer fever!

Last summer I wore a dress almost everyday. As soon as I got off work, the scrubs were replaced with a sundress. It just makes me feel more girly to dress up and every store seems to have tons of sundresses. Good for my style....bad for my checkbook!

Over the summer I discovered a new website that has the cutest dresses in my size!

(Yes a major deal!)

Pretty sure at least 3 of these will be hanging in my closet by March!

(Glad I cleaned it out over the weekend!)

This isn't one of them! Trust me a wedding dress is NOT in my near future, but if I ever get married this is my dress. J Crew's "Lucinda" will be perfect for my simple 50 guest (MAX) wedding.......if I decide to get married. It has pockets! Every dress needs pockets, just saying.

This one will be for sure! I am planning to wear this to Ella's rehearsal dinner in April.

I LOVE black! Simple, elegant and easily able to modify. I once justified buying a dress because it was black and I could wear it to funerals.....yep I am that weird! Actually I prefer the term frugal!

Love this one............

.....oh and this one too!

Purple is my favorite color, so this one will be hanging in my closet for sure!

Oh but this one is on sale!

How cute is this!

Every girl needs a red dress...right?

I just think this looks classic.

This beauty is rightly named "Dinner at Tiffany's" so of course its suppose to live with me!

Decisions decisions decisions!

Thankful for my 2nd job!

Weekend Recap

How is the weekend already over?
Seriously I don't know where my time goes. Oh wait now I remember........
Friday was a crazy day at work. It was after 7 p.m. before I finally got everything done, and got out the door. Normally, it doesn't bother me to work long hours but I was suppose to meet the girls for dinner at 7. So as usual I was late, which I hate, but was none the less. Downtown and Market Square are two of my favorite parts of Knoxville. Market Square has the BEST restaurant, Tomato Head, and I could eat there daily! By the time I parked, walked and found the girls they were already eating. SUPER! After we ate, and I managed to spill my entire (non-alcoholic) drink on me and the table next to us, we went to Oodles and Uncorked. It's a wine bar two doors down from Tomato Head. For some reason I just wasn't feeling girls night. After a non-stop day at work and my spill at dinner I just wanted to leave, and I knew exactly where I wanted to go. Remember "My Person"? Well I don't get to see him very much. BUT.....on my way home I text him to see if he was still awake. His response was "I don't know if I am or not" which just made me laugh. I'm pretty sure I either woke him up, or he was just about to go to bed. Anyway I ended up getting to see him for a few minutes! It may not sound like much, but i'll take a few minutes anyday over nothing at all.
Saturday started a little slow. I spent most of the morning cleaning and organizing, and ended the day working my closet into shape. I am happy to report that it looks much better. It's not as tidy as I would like, but I have to work with what space I have. I feel blessed to have a closet and clothes to hang in it. Sometimes I forget just how lucky I am.
Today was a whirlwind! Mama, Daddy and I spent most of the day shopping. We went baby shopping!!!!!!!!!!! Sears was having an amazing sale! We found Cassie, well Tatum or Reese, an Eddie Bauer stroller, pack and play and wooden high chair for a grand total of..........$113!
I am all about clearance sales, and searching for a good deal! I can't even tell you how happy Mama and I were when we saw this whole set so cheap. Poor Daddy! We made him stand and guard all the items while we kept looking. Mama almost bought her crib too, but they only had a display on sale. Daddy just laughed everytime one of us brought him something eles to watch. He's laid back that way. Finally, after a full day of looking at all things baby we took everything to Cassie's. Bless her heart she is having a really rough time. This baby is making her so sick. I wish I had a picture of her face when she saw us carrying in all her things.
In an extra effort to lift her spirits, I put her stoller together. Then I made her practice breaking it down, and setting it up. Ummmmmmm..............she is going to get some looks the first time she goes to the mall and has to get that stroller out alone. Oh well you know what they say....practice makes perfect!
Now I am home, and exhausted!
This week is going to be extra long. We worked 5 days last week, and we are working 5 days this week. So much for my errand day Friday! Plus this week I am housesitting a couple of a big house......alone! Yea, hopefully I will be so worn out from work that I will fall FAST asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow!

Wishful Thinking

Some people dream of a white Christmas, but not me!
I dream of smoking hot summer days by the pool!
The last couple of days have been warmer, which instantly makes me wish it was summer. Too bad i'll have to wait 6 more months to enjoy swimsuits and sundresses.

Another reason to hate snow!

Thanks to a sweet blogger friend I now have one more reason to worry when Dad is at work.

Hahaha Just kidding Jenna! Thanks for sending this to me. I showed it to Dad and he was shocked! He had to watch it a couple of times, and then made me e-mail it to a couple of guys he works with. This truck is almost identical to Dad's, so when I watched it my first thought was I HATE snow! On that note it was 42 degrees today!

Pictures of the week

How sweet is this?

Two of my fav's!

State of the Union

Let's get organized!

Three blog posts in one night?
I know.....i'm just as proud of myself as you guys are!

Even though its the very last thing I wanted to do tonight, I organized my closet!

Sound fun?

Well what else would I do on a Saturday night?

My closet is so tiny, and I have soooooooooo many clothes. At the beginning of every season I take a day and go through EVERYTHING. Normally I end up with 2 or 3 bags to drop off at Goodwill, but its still not enough. My closet door literally wouldn't close this morning.

Quick Side Note: 1. I hate to be late

2. I lay my clothes out at night to avoid being late

3. It stresses me out if I have to re-pick an outfit last minute!

This morning I was too busy listening to C-Span to notice that I had toothpaste on my dress. Glad I saw it.........2 minutes before I was about to leave! So guess who had to scramble to find a new dress, last minute? Guess who had to change her jewelry, shoes and leggings to match the new dress? Guess who was so frustrated that she DIDN'T listen to her audio book this morning? Shocked? Yea me too, but I needed something to change my mood! So Michael Jackson it was!

Okay back to the closet is a mess!

It just needed some TLC and organizing.

(I was reciting that phrase to myself over and over again)

If it were better organized then maybe I wouldn't have to go on an hunting expedition, like I did this morning!

I would LOVE to have a walk in closet organized similar to this!!!!!!

Look at all of that space!

And while we are talking about rooms I wish I had, I wish this was my laundry room!

So much for wishful thinking. Time for bed, I am exhausted!

Is it Friday yet?

Remember when I said I LOVE my job? I may have forgotten to mention that I don't LOVE it everyday. Today was one of those days. For some reason people just don't show up for dental appointments. Not only do they not show up, they don't leave a message to cancel, answer when we call to reschedule or send in payments. When a patient doesn't show up, then we can't perform a service that we can't charge for, that will in turn pay my salary. See where i'm going with this? If I want to continue to get paid, patients MUST show up, have dental procedures performed and most importantly.....PAY! Dentistry is the only profession I know of where a person can have a service performed, and not pay. It's beyond me how a person can do that. Oh well it is what it is. Maybe I am just tired from two nights of not so great sleep. So I apologize for my cranky tone, and promise to perk up........tomorrow!
So in an attempt to relieve this lovely headache I am going to:

1. Watch Grey's even though its an old episode. By the way why is it not a new episode? Last week was old, but the week before was new. Anyway......

2. Have my favorite meal....SUSHI! Not this much, although I could probably eat this whole plate if it was in front of me right now. Crunchy shrimp is my favorite roll!

3. Cherry coke just reminds me of my childhood.
Sonic has the best especially if I ask for an extra shot of cherry syrup.

Hopefully, these three things will wipe my headache out and tomorrow will be a much much less stressful day!

On a very happy side note: "My Person" made my day once again today!
I swear he has no idea how great he is, even though I keep telling him!
Just in case you missed it the last 25 times I have said it....
.....He really is my most favorite person!

Still trying!

My 2011 reading list isn't working out quite as well as I had hoped. By the time I get home at night and do all the things I need to do the last thing I want is to read.

I'm still attempting to read this one, but so far I haven't picked it up for more than 5 minutes in over a week.
This is my newest audiobook. It was a little slow to start, but its starting to get good. Of course it didn't get to the juicy part until I pulled into the parking lot at work this morning. I was almost tempted to eat my lunch in the car just so I could listen! Yes, I realize that makes me a dork.....No, I don't care!

With some luck i'll finish the actual book within 2011......don't hold your breath!

Just kidding Maci!
Miss Maci text me yesterday to say that I have been slipping on pictures. The truths the here are some pictures just for Maci!

P.S. Maci I miss you!

In an instant

Ok I finished sTori Telling.......AND it was amazing!
I've always loved Tori Spelling, but after hearing her life story (up until now) in her own words I love her even more!

Now I am reading (listening) her 2nd book Mommywood. So far its just as great. Mom and I went shopping on Saturday, and we listened the whole trip. Mom isn't a fan of audio books and is always saying that she is afraid I will fall asleep while driving! Hahahaha she knows books sometimes bore me. That's why I pick fun audio books!

Savannah gave me 6 or 7 of her audio books to "read" when I finish Mommy Wood, but this is my next book!

Bob Woodruff is an amazing journalist and survivor. If you aren't familiar with his story you should be! In January 2006, Lee and Bob Woodruff seemed to have it all–a happy marriage, four beautiful children, and marvelous careers. Bob had just been named co-anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight, but then, while he was embedded with the military in Iraq, an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near the tank he was riding in. He and his cameraman, Doug Vogt, were hit, and Bob suffered a traumatic brain injury that nearly killed him.
In an Instant is the frank and compelling account of how Bob and Lee Woodruff’s lives came together, were blown apart, and then were miraculously put together again–and how they persevered, with grit but also with humor, through intense trauma and fear. More than a dual memoir of love and courage, In an Instant is an important, wise, and inspiring guide to coping with tragedy–and an extraordinary drama of marriage, family, war, and nation.
This book has been on my reading list for too long! I ordered it last night on Amazon (for a grand total of $5.23!!!!!!!) and can't wait to start!
